Music and Perception
The impact of filmmusic from the perspective of the composer and the director Prof. Matthias Raue, Pernilla Deppeler-Kühni Music has the power to change a movie. It can add depth and emotions but also has the ability to make a scene absurd or fool the audience. The sense of filmmusic can turn out to be very individual for different viewers. Normally every director has his own idea of the impact and the function of filmmusic for his movie. The right communication between directo and composer is the linchpin for a successful result. Prof. Matthias Raue, head of the filmmusic departement at the Filmakademie, practising filmmusic composer, is giving a lecture together with director Deppeler-Kühni about the troubles and the creative potentials of communicating about filmmusic.
