Irmin Schmidt is a legend, not only in the field of film scores. He was founding member and composer of the German electronic rock band CAN.
His compositions for directors as important as Wim Wenders, Michael Verhoeven, Roland Klick, Tom Toelle or Hans W. Geißendörfer have highly influenced the sounds of German film.
Our gala concert presents excerpts of his film scores especially arranged for this event, i.e. for Palermo Shooting (Wim Wenders), Schneeland (Hans W. Geißendörfer), Rote Erde (Klaus Emmerich) and Das Messer (Francis Durbridge).
